Last week I felt like I was under spiritual attack. Spiritual warefare. I was not myself, and I couldn’t figure out why. I didn’t feel like having bible time, and I didn’t feel like praying.
If you don’t know what spiritual warefare is I recommend doing research because it is a very real thing. (See verses below)
“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:11-17
Our armor is prayer. We are not meant to fight battles we cannot see, all we have to do is pray.
“This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
2 Chronicles 20:15
The enemy was close to me last week, and it was scary. It took me until Sunday to pray. Once I did I felt like God wanted me to read psalm 91. It is a chapter about protection. So, in my room, like a crazy God follower, I physically stood up and read the chapter out loud.
“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalm 91:4
Once I was finished I rebuked the enemy and I told him that we already know how the story ends so he can leave me alone. I heard God tell me to turn to the last chapter in Revelations, so I did and I read that outloud.
If you think I am out of my mind then just wait.
A few hours later I went to church with a friend. We got prayed over individually/ privately. During this time if any words from God came to those around us they would share. One girl looked at me and said.. I have a verse from God for you. It is in psalm 91. (I REPEAT.. PSALM 91!!) once she was finished reading she said.. “I can see the shield that God has put around you and it is beautiful. He is protecting you.”
After my prayer session I FINALLY felt relief. It couldn’t come quick enough.
If you follow Christ & have the fruit then you are not a normal person. The enemy has a huge “WANTED” reward out for you. The things you hear, feel, and see are not normal. Embrace it. Love it. Know that God is always with you, even if it feels like he isnt. We know how this ends.
